Which over ear headphone to buy???? Suggestions please?

Hey Guys,

 

im currently using the Dr Dre beats studio, but im looking for new headphones (overear)! 

 

Primarily, genres of music i listen to are:

 

Rap

Hip Hop

Techno

Dance

House

 

My budget is about $300.

 

Could anyone please suggest me something good???I want something thats sorta balanced, with a bit stronger bass!! 

 

Or could anyone suggest i buy the Seinhheiser HD598 ??

HD598 will provide you with very good comfort (earpads are very large and soft,can easily wear them a whole day only to sleep with them and continue on) the vocals are very good, treble is detailed but not spikey, in terms of bass.... these will not give you that punch you dead in the face, but its more gentle and natiral i suppose? not that its not there, it just doesnt punch so hard but is deeper and weightier, it could be slightly more impactful i feel,(i am a little bit basshead) you can use a fiio E17 amp to get some extra bass if needed. but then again the vocals are amazing and livley :D

and the ironic thing is im using the modded hd558 to listen to the same genres as yoursbiggrin.gif 

i have mine through a 10 band eq though, this is what it roughly looks like

hey guys! thanks for the help so far. jus wanna let you know....i kno jack **** about headphones! I only use it on my phone (samsung, iphone). a reason i asked about the HD598 is cuz it looks good. not only do i wanna like get good quality sound but the appearance is quite important to me! 

like i really appreciate the detail some of you give, but in honesty i dont know what you're going on about!

hmm haven't had a chance to listen to those, heard quite a number of people reccomending them over the HD598, how do they sound like?

If you are just listening straight out of your phone, I would go with the V Moda M-80.

er.... well i would avoid celebrity headphones if i were you, they do not sound good it seems from many reviews (including tyll's one from innerfidelity.com) a few good ones are the AKG Q701, V Moda M80, and a few morei do not know of

HD558 and HD598 look good and sound good, beats soul etc look good but sound really bad for price (solo sound bad compared to almost anything, let alone the $200 tag) for good looking and a pretty good sound for not an explosive price.... V moda is the way to go
