Selling my K1000s (#5579), bought these very recently and they have barely been used.  Selling because these aren't for me.

 

They come with the original wood black box.  The original "pig tail" cable and the original manual w/ sleeve.

 

The condition is pristine, and the head-pads are in fine shape, the lock levers are working and there are absolutely no marks or scratches on the phones.  Perfect condition really.  The headband look pretty much new.  Unfortunately someone has scribbled a tiny note on the inside cover of the manual.  There's one superficial scratch on the lid of the box which is in otherwise perfect condition.

 

Paypal and shipping are included.  If you are international, outside of CONUS, I prefer gift payment on Paypal due to the risk I take with another set of hands handling the package (customs).  International shipping can be split between us.

haha you haven't quite made up your mind yet on which one you want, aye? So you just keeping the HD800's or what?

Didn't take long to decide they weren't for me.  Definitely keeping my HD800.  Can't really think of any dynamic headphone that might best them.  I know the LCD-3 won't, for me.  The HE-6 might be next, or Stax.

Just go to Stax, but at this level this only ones worth looking into are the 007 and 009, IMO. 

 

I'd still have my HD800s if I hadn't heard the 009.

Yeah, those are the only two I would consider "upgrades" too.  But I thought about it this morning and my HD800 + amp cost $1,600.  The 007 basically requires a HV or BH, so that would be a good $5-7K, and the 009 would be $6-10K even with a lesser amp.  

 

So, I might just stop here.

Or the original Omega's if you can find them at a good price.
