its hard for the price to drop too since sennheiser has price locked up
While I'm happy with the headphones and IEM I have, I feel there's something out there that might sound better, but because I've spent more than enough on audio equipment, after I've received the two amps I've ordered, I'm not buying any new headphones or audio equipment for along time.

What if the SR-010's come out and blows all over the SR-009's in terms of improvement, will you be upgrading then?
I don't know, I have spent a lot on the audio equipment I have and what I'm getting which is why I haven't much left. If or when the SR-010 comes out and is much better than the 009, I might end up selling a kidney
I'll always be curious about what else is out there, but thankfully, given the state of my finances (or lack thereof) I do enjoy what I have now. Will I try other stuff in the future? No doubt.....but I am content for now.

Can't imagine why?
Looking forward to your impressions when the new gear arrives, David!

I gave up hoping that would happen...
.....Stalking an SLI-80...We'll see...maybe.....
Got my HD650 for $409. (was only $359 due to a xmas gift card my sister gave me)
I think I'm still on the gateway drug stage on the road to headphone nirvana.
Stax lamda started it back in the 80's and then went dormant till last year, then grado started it up again, then hm50s, then hd 650+schiit stack (waiting for my Asgard 2 and bottlehead kit to arrive), now trying to decide the next step down the road, HE-500 (ordered), LCD2, RS1i, PS1000, or HD800 so many to choose from. My needle is stuck and it needs a bump...
So...
Let my try a theory. There are two very related, but still independent hobbies: (1) listening/loving music, (2) audio gear.
There are those who like both equally. Those folk are rare. There are people who like one side much more than the other. I'd venture that people who love music but not audio gear are not present in this forum. :-) But they do exist out there. :-)
Anyhow, this is relevant for the question posed: "audio nirvana". Although gear can definitely help and enhance, "nirvana" is actually in the music. :-)
BTW, this dialectic is the same in the camera vs photography world. Music vs. audio is just more "flanboyant" and beautiful.
