From the diameter of the wire, to the thin rubber coating with a questionable kevlar coating underneath.I just wasn't "feeling it" and after doing research off site, and again...I "spoke" to their Customer Service. LOL I'm not making this sh*t up...

But again, each to their own.

Well, Kevlar works a little better than PVC, regardless of thickness...  My Westone cables have already started hardening (plastic becoming more brittle), and I've had them for a shorter amount of time than my PFE.

I work with Kevlar cabling almost every day. If there is a Kevlar coating it's thin enough to be almost non-existant. A Kevlar coating of any worth on the interior of a rubber jacketed insulation...which is what this is...would make the cables as flexible as those Zagg cables. While I didn't slice the ends off to diagnose them...I will reiterate what I said in my earlier post...they weren't for me. My choice for the Heir 4Ai was due to sound and build quality. I personally did not find anything special about the build quality of the PFE's. At all. They're not titanium, they're plastic, the cable has known issues, there are no aftermarket cable options...but yes...they sounded fantastic. I choose something that sounds, to my ears, almost as good with a better build quality. This isn't a new concept, the physical review, it's done all the time. I self admittedly use my buds hard and did not feel like the 232's would be up to what I put them through. I don't understand is why Phonek owners are coming out of the woodwork to defend them...in the Heir 4Ai Thread.  I merely posted my experience with the cable and their Customer Service. If someone had a different experience when questioning the longevity of their cable, then so be it.

It seems as if it's agree..or say nothing here now. So I'll agree to disagree.

I said multiple times..."in my opinion" and "for me personally". For me, the Phonek's are an indulgence buy. If I had another $600 laying around to buy another set of buds...then by all means I would buy them again. I feel that for the money spent, the cable and build could be of better quality.

PS: as for the westone cable cracking...it's arguably the easiest cable to replace out there from high end to cheap. If I could have had someone make me a Phonek replacement cable I would have purchased the buds.

Thanks! I really like this, and you're right, the ambient noise gives it a very interesting feel.

This is turning out to be a good morning for music discovery, Sorensiim posted a video of Andreya Triana which I quite like as well.

Alright, I just got my 4Ai from the mail. Is there a third party triple flange that I can buy for this baby? The included ones aren't playing nice with my ears.

I would like to know about the comfort of HeirAudio 4.Ai in your ear.

Will your ears feel pain after wearing it for a long time like 1 to 2hrs?

How is the material quality & build quality of HeirAudio 4.Ai comparing to reputable IEM like Shure or Westone?

Any opportunity to further enhance the sound quality in HeirAudio4.Ai by upgrading the cable?

The comfort is great and i have worn these for over 5 hours with no pain and great comfort.

The build is great and proffessional ith a solid feeling acrylic which give me more confidence than any of my CIEMs. I think it is better than Shure or Westone here because it does not have a easily breakable sound nozzle.

I will be trying soon but have not yet. Some seem to be happy with effects of an aftermarket cable!

Comfort is great...no issues there. I have been using a BTG audio sunrise cable, it is a nice upgrade in build quality compared to the original cable but I can't say it sounds any different.

They're very comfortable and well made. Easily better made than the Westone's....I'm using a Fisher SPC cable on them and the only issue I have is that the Fisher cable is a little thinner than the normal cables pins...so the left monitor gets unplugged pretty easy. I don't see it as a problem...unless it becomes a problem...

If that makes any sense...lol

I am using the BTG sunrise cable too. I *think* it sounds better and it definitely seems more sturdy.
