As an owner of both (though I sold the 3.Ai just to try out some other things) I would say absolutely. I do treasure my SE215 though for their inoffensive presentation. Anyway, the 3.Ai absolutely blows them out of the water for clarity and upper end extension. They also have the sort of characteristic BA sound. Totally different IEMs, so it depends what you like.

I didn't feel the 3.Ai had a BA-esque sound.  They actually sounded very dynamic to me.  In a good way though ;)

I agree in some ways, but the low end just wasn't as natural sounding like a dynamic, and the high end with things like plucking on strings sounded much more realistic to me. So to me, those two things are characteristic of BA.

Before I purchase, does anyone consider the Heir 3.ai a significant upgrade from the Yamaha Eph-100?

I'm getting too excited for them, more of a love at first sight thing haha

Between 3.Ai & 4.Ai, which one sound better when pairing with Colorfly C3?

I mean the which one will perform better in term of sound stage/3D imaging and vocal/instrument separation.

Never compared the two, so I can't tell you :/

The 3.Ai are really the definition of fun.  I love their sound signature for that reason too.  Beware of bass...  Lots of bass...  L3000.gif

i am not sure if i will like them to be honest. Not that i am going in with a negative feeling or anything but yes, i am looking forward to hearing (feeling?) the bass !

I didn't think the bass was as powerful as most made it out to be, it still thumps good but it just sounded to clean and I know that might sound strange but I think it was because the decay time was really short for bass, it didn't have that rumble to it.  I also thought the mids were a bit to recessed and the soundstage wasn't as wide as I normally like it to be but having said all that I still thought it was a good IEM just not a signature I'm into.

I actually had some strong rumbles with the 3.Ai.  I'll double check that statement this weekend as it comes from memory.  The low-bass decay was quicker though which created a very tight low end though.

Mids are usually recessed in "fun" sounding IEMs at least in my experience. Also, I thought the bass was very powerful and punchy. I do agree the soundstage was a bit lacking, but for an all around IEM to just enjoy music I think it is adequate. Big fan of the Heir 3.Ai!

Edit: Coupled with a slightly warm amp really helped me get that lush sound that I'm used to. My new C&C BH amp was a tad to bright for these, I hope it tames down some, because I love to listen to my 3.Ai's the most.

I agree the bass initially did not have the rumble. However over time the bass became more noticable. Make sure the seal is good because that made all the difference for me.

Hello boys and girls. I have some questions here. First of all, my 3a.i just came yesterday.

a. At the present state, and in some songs (like Metallica or Oomph or anything else which uses a full drum set) treble pierce my ear. Is this about their burn-in time, or about tips?

b. How many hours this require to be burned in?

c. What is the primary effect of that period on this 3a.i?

Thank you :)
