I listen to music in my own room, so I don't need isolation at all, but some guys here believe the Paradox (and even the Mad Dogs) are superior to everything under 500 (and even 1000).
Meh I liked my dt 880s more than my Mad Dogs

Both the Paradox, HE-400 and Mad Dogs are extreme values. They perform much better than their counterparts. It comes down to your preferences. Neither choice is a bad one.
I preferred the 1. Mad Dog 2. Paradox. 3. HE-400.
I owned the mad Dogs, and again with my Tube amps. The Mad Dogs where WAY to honky! To much mids in em :/
but again most people have told me SOLID STATE THEM MADS, and I don't own solid states.
Not to mention for the $300 price tag I snagged a Ath w1000x :O [wood MIDS] in addition I got the L3000 pads for mine that increase sound stage and tighten the entire sound up [just wee bit]
SO we sill see how the Stock w1000x compares to the mad dog, since they are both the same price, then with the pads. All and all and sadly, the Mad Dogs and my en route ath w1000x r the most expensive cans I own e.e[Byer pros r dirt cheap ;3 n sound great I think]
