I didnt know Head-Fi had a Japanese Culture Thread...subscribed :-) . I love anime and Japanese culture in general, hopefully I will be able to visit Japan someday and take in everything they have to offer.
I have been building an anime collection, and I have managed to collect most of the mainstream animes, including Cowboy Bebop (film and series), Evangelion, Basilisk, Samurai Champloo, FLCL, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Fullmetal Panic, Eden of the East, Angel Beats and others.
I am watching 'Ergo Proxy' at the moment, but Im in the middle of the series and I am simply not finding it interesting or making much sense. Especially after just watching the incredibly brilliant 'Death Note' series. Maybe its one of those animes where everything comes together near the ending, but its not holding my interest much right now.
I just got the complete series DVD set of 'Noir' and plan to start watching that soon, also there is another anime called 'Welcome to the N.H.K.' which seems to be very good so I've bought that and want to start watching that also.
Looking forward to interacting with fellow nipponophiles on here. :-)
