why am i up at 2:20 AM? because i love my Zu's!!! no that would be freakish. seriously, i can't sleep right now, so why not respond to some head-fiers out there.

WOW!!! those are some really nice pics, especially the extreme close-ups!! that is also a very nice looking headphone rig and listening area you have there.
so i guess the small plugs are copper. i honestly looked at them when i first bought the Zu's and swore i saw silver, making me think it was some other metal.

team 650/ZU,
hell yeah to all you new HD650/Zu Mobius members! you all now have one of the top headphones/cable combo in the price range. dont you all just love the fact that we have the option of replacing and or forever having the choice to change to an extremly high quality headphone cable??? there's just somethin about that option that makes the Senns so unique!

I'm awake again! Slept only about 5 hours. One comment about the xtreme closeup of those connectors, I took the original in 1600x1200 resolution, and then cut out the 800x600 center rectangle of that original, that center rectangle is what you see there. The macro of the camera is very good I think, but my editing helped the magnification on that one. All the other close-ups are true to what the lens can magnify though.

I gotta tell you guys that the Zu cable on my HD-600's is a masterpiece. I've now have it paired with my LaRocco PPA and after a week of burn-in and listening, it completely ROCKS! I've auditioned every genre of music in my CD collection and can't get over the detail and bandwidth this combination extracts from the good old redbook format. With SACD the soundstage is just incredible. I only own a dozen or so SACD's, but the performance of the headphone setup completely surpasses my full room audio setup. All at a fraction of the cost. God help me... I'm hooked.

Great pics! The build quality and look of the Zu cable is unreal. But I am still on the fence between the Mobius and the Silver Dragon with the 650s. Nasty fence to be on, no?

Well I was actually planning to get the silver dragon originally, but it was going to take too long, that was the only reason I went for the Zu. I thought these cables will be similarly competent and satisfactory. There might be sound differences, but I would guess they won't be major. At least I personally won't even be doing a/b comparisons with the stock vs. Zu cable, unless it's with another pair of 650's of someone else in a meet , these connectors of the Zu are not leaving my 650 for quite some time until a copper clean up is due.

Oh how I envy you!

The phones and the cable are, of course, nice, but it was your headphone stand that really cought my attention... Your go-board is also very beautiful! Katsura?

Hope that's the good kind of envy, not the bad one

Including me of course, many people here in Head-fi really dig that stand. It is a banana hanger made of chrome plated steel, got it in Walmart for just $4.88!

I noticed on some other pictures here in Head-fi the Zu's connector seems slightly further into the socket than I managed to pushed mine in. Wondering if the distance these connectors stick out of the headphone after fully inserted should be something like this (basically half an inch) or if some people might have pushed them slightly further in.

Raul: Since you don't seem to be sleeping much these days, why don't you grab your rig and head down to Guru's in Tampa where I will meet you with some killer stuff, and we'll have a shootout.

How else will you know if that PPA will satisfy you?

Gene I'd be glad to join, when are you guys meeting? If too soon won't be so easy for me. But also, right now I don't have my NS500V, it's at SACDmods, and I don't have the PPA. I ordered already the LaRocco one by the way, but it will take a few more weeks. So basically I'm still using the following for now: PS2->Marantz SR4000->Zu->650's. But if I can I'd like to join, please let me know what days you have in mind.

Agghhh! I know this post is crazy old but I'm after some pics of the 650s with the Zu and apparently these are very good? Could you upload them somewhere please :D
