It doesn't have vents. They're there for looks and does nothing to the sound.

LOL.  I asked the rep to make sure it wasn't a vent.  There are no holes it in XD  It's there for just aesthetics :)  Makes it look prettier; it definitely does give it some definition though.

I was actually suprised how much the 4.Ai sounds like the 232 with the digizoid Zo. I mean not quite as much mid bass and not as much dip in the mids but it has the rough sound, I generally prefer the 4.Ai a lot withought the Zo but it does really change the earphone. We do loose some defining factors of the 4.Ai such as the mind blowing treble, superb clarity and detail and the imaging also feels a tad smudged.

Got mine yesterday. Been trying different tips and insertion depths. For me, the reds are a problem. The right tip likes my ear better than the stem, so it stays in. I also had this problem with some tips on the Aurisonics ASG-1.2. The bass was very light with the reds also. I ended up with the large blue tips and medium insertion depth for the best bass. If I insert the blue tips too far, the bass goes away. When everything is right, they are very well balanced and incredibly detailed. Probably won't use them for Trance, but they are very good on Jazz, Classical and acoustic music.

Guys i need some help. The right side of my 4ai's have a bad cracking sound with this song at the begining  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxMtO7HvXzA. Could some one please listen to it and let me know if there's crackle too. If so its the recording and not my iems, which i hope is the case. Tried with different iems but couldn't hear the cracking sound. Thanks.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news,  but I just listened to this with my 4.ai's and there is no cracking sound for me.

Sounds like you're not using the right sized tips, and going bigger in size doesn't necessarily solve the problem. Try to go down a size and go for the deep fit again, and see if that helps.

The 4.Ai's are absolutely wonderful. They are good with every kind of music i listen to( Rock, Jazz, pop, hip-hop ... ) .... Everything about this ( Bass, Mids, Highs) is just right. The resolution is out-standing and they are gorgeous. These are perfect for me .

Can you share with us at what time the "cracking noise" begins. At 48 Seconds some strange "Techno" jitter begins in the song as the attempt to ad "dub step" like sound quality into the mix.

 

Beyond that, does this occur in other recordings, songs etc?
