Heir Audio 4.Ai - Appreciation/Impression/Review Thread - Page 39

Received the 4.ai this afternoon and Wow, these are puny, never expected them to be soooo small. Same size if not smaller than um3x (i think its smaller)

Also is it ok if i use the red tip for my right side and a blue for my left? my ears have different fit and one side prefers one over the other. since tips change the sound ever so subtly.

Ps. pictures soon.

I can confirm the the iPhone 5 sounds very good and I have also recently acquired a FLAC player app from iTunes that features a full EQ just like your Cowon. Needless to say, I have completely abandoned iTunes for playing music on both my Mac and iPhone.

Which one has more power, does the 5 require less volume power for the same decibels? If the 5 does, is it significantly more

The 4.Ais are a universal fit, and however snug the fit might be, there will still be room for the casings to bounce around in your ears. A cozy fit is also very important. I tried wearing the 4.Ai straight down, and it just wasn’t doable. Also, when the shells weren’t positioned “just right” in my ears, projection of the sound was not centered, and the bass emphasis took a significant nosedive.

Mh. For what it's worth, I ran with the 4.Ai this week with no problem whatsoever. As a test, I also shook my head as wildly as I could, and the 4.Ai stayed put. This said, I've got big ears, and push the 4.Ai as deep as they can possibly go (which, really, isn't much; unlike you, I favor IEMs I can cram in as deep as earplugs).

Red/blue....  it is really up to you, if the sound seems balanced to you, then enjoy repeatedly.

Sinocelt, when I first go the red ear tip samples from our suppliers I saw that big red tip and I thought of you!   I was thinking....   this might be big enough!

Yeah. They're a little smaller than my 4.A:

Just a quick shot before i leave my house for my flight!

Today has been such an ecstatic day for me, i won second runner up to a bouldering competition, came home to enjoy these beautiful pair of iems, and now i'm off to the airport!

Edit: Btw, my nexus outputs an "ok" sound, however when i plug them into my ipod shuffle 1g, the sound is way more dynamic, the fidelity of the music just makes you wanna dance. got to invest in a new source.
As per head-fi lingo, the journey never ends =p

Blue and red tips makes right and left channel easier to tell apart as well :P

Also i found running in these doable (not that i run a lot). Just when i am reviewing i make sure that they do not fall out for the fit section of my review.

Just tested them, it seems when both are set to 8 bars(setting the volume with the side buttons), the 4s is lauder than 5 by about 1bar.  However, who knows what the actual gain is set at on each phone when the UI shows 8 bars.  So, take this with a grain of salt i guess.
