They worked well with classical rock and well recorded ones like Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles and all those other famous bands and indie's especially when they were well mastered/produced.

Never really listened to psychadelic rock. The only thing close enough is Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon. I personally didn't find it bad to listen to, but I of course isn't a fan of Pink Floyd and only used those tracks as testing.

If you could listen to one song, that would really help, seriouslyredface.gif. Amanita by Animal Collective if you can. Also, I'm sure you've heard of Radiohead, if anyone could comment on how they sounded on the 4.Ai's.

You can also help me out in this aspect, Bowei. Looking at your pictures you have a FiiO E11. How does it sound with the 4.Ai, as I own a E11 too.

Sorry, I no longer have the 4.Ai or all the Heirs. They were review samples from Heir Audio.

E11 is not recommended with them. The E11 isn't too clear and a bit bassy. Not very complimentary to the Heir 4.Ai's.

The E12 and O2 are much better matches

Gotcha. I have an O2, I guess I'll use that portably. And ok, I want a review samplevery_evil_smiley.gif

Wait wait wait wait, the IEM 5.0 is the 8.A? So I should just get the 5.0? Or am I going crazy?

The 5.0 sounds as close to the 8.A as one can achieve with "only" 5 drivers instead of 8.

They had to be returned(moved along) but it was good having them. Good fun with the Heir Audio line

So should I get the 4.Ai or the 5.0? I can get either, money isn't a problem.

The 4.Ai is more "genre" niche, where as the 5.0 is not.

Meaning, if you like your bass to have personality, the 4.Ai could be said to lack good hard hitting bass ability. So the 4.Ai excells in genres such as vocals, strings, paino, classic etc.

The 5.0 can do all that, but also do dubstep or any other genre that has layers of bass.

So for sub genres of rock, you'd recommend the 5.0?

I wouldnt recommend Heir 4.Ai for Rock or Electronic. Listening to Maroon 5 and  Paramore (old songs) feels distorted its just doesnt feels right even when listening to Vocaloid i cant appreciate it. Heir 4.ai is really good for Jazz and Classical those easy listening track

The 4.Ai does bass pretty well I think. But it does not blur your vision when the bass hits like the 5.0 and 8.A does.

Ruler flat, strictly accurate: Tzar 350

Neutral-ish with a dash of warmth: 4.Ai

Neutral-ish with a dash of warmth and a subwoofer: 5.0 or 8.A*

*8.A is a bit more resolving and layered, but at twice the price + shipping + impressions + waiting. I love mine.

Your making this too hard of a decision, Soren!! If I listen to stuff like indie rock, psychedelic rock and psych electronic, which do you recommend?

That REALLY depends on how you like your music. Do you want to hear exactly what was recorded as well as every single nuance of every single step of your audio chain? Tzar 350 it is.

Do you want to hear what was recorded without shining a light on every single minor flaw in the studio or your audio chain? 4.Ai then.

Or how about the 4.Ai with a subwoofer strapped to its back? 5.0 or 8.A.
