So you "admit" that everyone has different tastes? Strong logic.

hey guys i'm currently using the heir with my ipod classic, can you guy suggest an affordable, about $200, neutral portable amp to pair with it?

I'm not sure how much a used HeadAmp Pico Slim goes for these days but that would be my choice if I was looking for a portable amp.

The same is also true for guitar and piano. Anyways, I shall just concede that some people simply like heavily colored sounds.

It's definitely not ideal for a even-handed presentation; I also prefer a relatively uncolored presentation, but I recognize the merits of something built for another purpose. normal_smile%20.gif

i've did some search about this amp but it seems like the price for a new one is too high for me, and i live in Vietnam so it's pretty hard to find a used one. Any alternative?

Try cheaper ones, maybe Fiio? Not too sure.

I use mine with the brilliant O2 amp. You can grab one ready made or build your own smile.gif

Ready made options include the JDS Labs build and the one from Epiphany Acoustics.

O2 isn't really portable though haha.

Portable amp sorenslim :P I think the hippo cricri makes a good cheap option, well under your budget and pico slim it stretches out enough.

It's smaller than my house AND it runs on batteries. Portable! biggrin.gif

anyone got an idea about the ibasso T5? It's pretty affordable and it's easy to buy too. Looks pretty "portable" too

A 4.Ai loaner pair is coming my way from Heir Audio.  It should be here by the end of the week, or early next week).  I'll be doing comparisons to the following:

  • Heir Audio 3.Ai
  • Logitech Ultimate Ears UE 900
  • Westone W4R
  • Phonak Audèo PFE232

These are loans, so I will send them back after I write a formal review on them, so please let me know if anyone is interested in direct comparisons to other IEM or headphones I may have.
