Can you compare their trebles a little?

Sure.

The 4Ai isn't nearly as bright as I expected it to be, though it's treble response is pretty impressive.

Compared to the GR07, I think the 4ai's treble is better because it has more room to work with. It doesn't seem as compressed/congested as the treble of the GR07 does.

I've yet to hear any real sibilance with the 4ai, though I barely hear it with my gr07 either.

Is it just me, or do universals shaped like customs have better sound stage height? I noticed the same thing with my ASG-1, and now the 4ai. I just find that interesting.

How long does it normally take until you receive the shipping conformation email after ordering?

guess that's true. If ur getting urs sent from chendu i think that's the around the time? If it was the US HQ then maybe its diff. I had mine made and shipped from Chendu, and it was also the 4.Ai+... so i guess ur rite it prolly shorter time.

Yeah, I ordered mine on the 16th and got the shipment e-mail on the 23rd. 4-5 weeks would make sense for a custom though....

I did ordered the 4.Ai+ and its shipping to the UK. So far has been 3 weeks, just wanted an idea of how much longer it may take.

Remember, these are hand-made and look and feel it. You can tell that Heir spend a long time with each. They are works of art. I've finally finished my review and uploaded pictures that I hope reflect their true beauty.

Well done Shigzie. Your FitEar 334 was quite impressive, but I feel this 3.ai/4.ai review is pretty underwhelming in comparison, as evident in the fact that you wrote much less about these two IEMs' SQ combined, than you did a single IEM of a competitor's. Not saying that it's unfair (well, maybe a smidge); but the part about the SQ of the Heirs seems brief/rushed, in comparison. Perhaps you were just overwhelmingly impressed by the TG 334; in which case, I should give the TG 334 more consideration. Thanks, regardless.

Hello Tigon - thank you for the feedback. My entire life has been so rushed in the last 6 weeks that I'm surprised I've got my underwear on right. The 3.Ai and 4.Ai are a lot simpler to understand: no fit issues, perfect size, very easy to situate, and use cables that we've known about since the dawn of man. Their sound is perfect from day one and is under very little influence from poor angles, etc.

I found them very easy to suss and that is why the review is sans: issues/explanations section regarding sound. If you want excellent price/performance and an easy-to-enjoy earphone, the 3.Ai and 4.Ai are your best choices in the universal-cum-custom world. The 334, while the best out there (I feel), take a LOT more work to enjoy. Both companies are worth it, but Heir make it simple to use and enjoy.

As for the writing and possible holes, I agree, and will update the review where I feel necessary. As of now, I feel that it does the trick. Heir's earphones are that straight forward. Go get 'em.

I think Shigzeo, more and more, tends to compress his words (but in a good way, in my book); a couple more read-throughs might help give you more information.

I also did a short comparison of the 4.Ai against the 334 here, and I also ended up talking more about the 334 than the 4.Ai, but that's not a strike against the 4.Ai in any way. If anything, it speaks on its value. If money is no object, then by all means, the 334 is the clear winner. Otherwise, the 4.Ai is much lighter on the wallet and came much closer to the performance of the 334 than I expected.

I noticed from that thread that you own the 4.A. Have you written a comparison betwen the 4.A and 334 somewhere? That would be an interesting comparison. Even though one is custom, and the other is universal, the latter is still much more expensive. Even though it's a 4.AI thread, I think the 4.A is relevant enough to be talked about.

No, I haven't written between the two --- it's a bit superfluous in my opinion; in general, with the 4.A, you get the benefits of the custom fit, which are not to be diminished. Basically, isolation improves, comfort improves (though the 4.Ai is very comfortable already), and insertion depth improves. Insertion depth, along with isolation, can improve things quite a bit, namely with regard to vocal body, bass/treble extension, detail retrieval, and overall cohesion. I've commented before about the differences between the 4.A and the 4.Ai on this thread before and perhaps in other threads, but you'll have to go digging for them.
