If I am not mistaken, there are six units "out there" that are unnumbered units and these were the very first units ever produced. They were all sent out to the very first North American customers. How long have you had your units? Did you buy your units second hand? Does the outer cardboard box that your IEMs came in have a S/N on the side?

I found that the red medium size tips were a nice fit, but did find they didnt sit as deep in my ear and lacked a bit of bass.....if they worked loose they sounded quite thin.

I have tried a pair of white double flange tips (i think they are shure and came with my A.4i when I bought them second hand) they seem to provide a good fit. I have also tried some comply tips from my IE6 IEMs (they are good and comfortable and obviously expand inside my ear) and also the supplied medium size black double flange tips. These are the ones I am using at the moment.....they seem to fit well in my ear and povide an excellent seal.

I wish the Shure Olives were available in a size that fit the 4.Ai - Best. Tips. Ever.

I've seen people remove the cores of shure olives to fit them on their IE80s. I wonder if the same could be done with the 4.Ai?

What kind of cable connectors do these have ? Will my IE80 cable fit them ? For anyone who has owned both these and the IE80 what is the difference in sound ?

I bought them second-hand, it's just the IEMs themselves. The previous user said that he'd gotten it as a gift, so I'm not really sure. I've pretty much searched all over both the left and the right unit and couldn't find anything though.

not yet unfortunately but we'll see what the future brings... these guys offer incredible customer-service, it's always a pleasure popping into the store Simon is a perfect gent, extremely knowledgeable and never tries to shove anything down your throat, Martin is a font of knowledge music wise & a good laugh... I could happily pay rent to live in that showroom.

Westone style connectors. I dont think the IE80 cable will fit, but never seen one close up. I think those and the Westone pin size and spacing are different.

Nice one OK-Guy!

Bring music you know well and a source you trust (if possible). Might I suggest something acoustic with nice vocals as well?

I think it is likely that you brought someone's review unit. It won't have a serial number if that is the case.

Taking my DIYmod + TTVJ slim ( been using that set up for over a year ) and will be kicking off with 'Peaceful, the World lays me down' by Noah and the Whale. Great harmonies between the male lead, and the female vocalist on that albumn. Must have listened to it at least 20 times in the last month.
