Heir Audio 4.Ai - Appreciation/Impression/Review Thread - Page 70

Ouch!

Hello;

I received mine today, don't want to alk long about them, they are incredible... really my best universal... I have the EM6 and all I can say is that they are placed between the W4 and the EM6 (custom).

My question is: I have seen all the pictures and there's a little design difference between the 3Ai ant the 4Ai that is the writing nearthe crowd of each piece... I know that mine's are the 4 Ai (sound signature) but they just have the yellow crowd alone" without the "4Ai" writen on it...

Someone had the same experience?

Sorry...

Thanx..

Just got these! They're really amazing and I got a great deal on them ($325 for just the IEMs used). The fit is a little funky (I'll probably tip-roll some Sony hybrids on), but the sound is great. Not nearly as mid-centric as my Westone UM3x -- I think that'll be my two keepers for now (a really fantastic two sets)!

I do have one question though: where is the SN# supposed to be? I can't seem to find it...

SN # are along the bottom side of the canal portion

Another small impression blurb; these are wonderful for female vocals like Norah Jones. Listening to "Sunrise" by her just melts my heart, it's so smooth and buttery.

But then listening to classical piano like Glenn Could's Bach, it lacks clarity and sounds a bit muddy. However, I was A/Bing with my ER4, the clarity monster, so that could be why haha.

Try getting a hold of Ane Brun's album "It all starts with One" and listen to it on the 4.Ai wink.gif

Well I went ahead and ordered the 3.Ai's as well. I just have to see how they compare...I have fiddled a bit with boosting the bass and treble a bit some tracks with the 4.Ai's and if that is any indication of the sound signature, I think I will REALLY like it.

"The first of the Microbe Hunters" by Stereolab, "Xcommunication" by Brand X, "Le Noise" by Neil Young, "Sea Change" by Beck, and "Upstairs at Eric's" by Yaz - pretty awesome on the 4.Ai!

Hmm, still can't find it. Is there a picture of this?

It's really difficult to see, but it's there. Almost hiding underneath the tips. It's only like 3 or 4 numbers iirc

Yeah, I must be blind or something... can't see them there. Are they in the gold just like the crown and the "Heir 4.Ai" writing?

Nope, they're colorless engravings.

No, I can't see it. Are there any that are possibly unnumbered?
