Cereal? Now you guys are piquing my interest in the IE8/80 since I've never heard them. What are they like? Is it the synergy between the DAP that makes them so desirable in this situation?

If you love a large and spacious sound-stage, silky-smooth treble and slamming bass the IE80 is a great choice. Just it pairs really well with the Studio Vs bright and neutral sound. Together they blend very well and make the IE80 a very energetic and detailed IEM. The Sound stage is even bigger with the Studio V yet the mid-range is lush and intimate which I absolutely love. Nothing beats a large sound stage with up close and personal mids. Kinda hard to believe you can have both....

Came home today after a tough Chem2 exam and look what I found biggrin.gif

I'd also like to mention that I confirmed this order with Jack late Thursday (10/11) night. That's some good service! (not to mention the Wooduo2s)

I am 100% positive that if it wasn't for the synergy they have with Hisound daps I would of sold them off a long time ago. Compared to the universal BA iems I had at the time, the ie8's just sounded more "meaty", also very spacious, and simply suited my needs better. One of the things that I actually liked about them was that they DON'T have very good isolation (compared to other iem's). This was becoming a pain for me with other iem's, having to take them out of my ears whenever somebody is talking to me, with ie8's I can just hit pause and be able to hear the other person just fine.

Thanks for the info guys. I may have to try to get my hands on a pair to see how they synch up.

Btw, can someone point me to the firmware files or thread? Did any of you adjust the FW like on the last Studio-V?

I remember changing mine at one point and liking the sound more.

The BA  firmware is more mellow, laid back. The dynamic firmware has more energy. A more resolving sound. With burn in the dynamic firmware is clearly the winner. The treble will settle down, sound staging gets noticeably wider with more air. You may just wanna stick with it. If you want a good deal on the IE80s PM and I'll provide you the info.

What comes on the player? And where can I DL the FW files? I don't remember what I had on the last Studio-V.

Dynamic comes standard. You can get the firmwares from the Hisound firmware thread created by ie2han. Jack recommends against switching firmwares though. It's up to you. I feel the stock firmware is the best, especially for the IE80s.

This answers my question I was about to ask.  Do you know or think the Miracles will suffer with the dynamic firmware though?

I'm not so sure. It may be a bit bright as I hear the miracle is a tad treble-centric right? At least that is what I gathered from Saragui's comments. But it wiill settle down with burn in. But you may want to use the BA firmware if its too detailed.

The player may have both the Dynamic and BA FW folders on the internal memory. You can drag those to your computer and use them from there.

I think if it shutdown via autoshutdown it may preserve the settings. If not try make sure to use the internal memory (play a song from it and then shut down). See if that preserves it...
