New IEM's - maybe Westone UM2's?

Hi everyone...

 

since about 1,5 years or so now i'm using my Cheap Brainwavz M2's the Laid back Highs make them quiet enjoyable, However, i allways felt like their Bass is just a SLIGHT bit too boomy, anyways, about 2 weeks ago, i bought a pair of Sony XBA1's and... WOW i was kinda amazed by the highs they gave me, especially Voices and things like snaires sound awesome, however, their hmm "shrill" sound make them a little bit fatiguing, too... so yeah what i basically want, is something like the M2's but without it's overpowering Bass and more Detail in the highs BUT not as shrill highs as the XBA1's.... hm yeah lol the Highs should still be rolled off, but just with a little bit more detail....

so yeah... i hope my description is good enough...

 

btw awesome forum, i've been reading here since quiet some time now...

 

EDIT: btw i also own a pair of V-Moda M80's and i really like them, im referring to the Westone UM2's because i've heard that their sound is a little laid back, too but i'm hoping, that they have a little bit moar detail than the Brainwavz M2's

I love my UM2 RC. I recently ordered a pair of 1964 customs and and am hoping their sound sig is close to the Westone sound.

Anyway... The UM2 is a great headphone. Especially if you like midrange ie: voice.

They have a very smooth treble and the bass, to me, is just right.

I was listening to a rendition of Nessun Dorma the other day and generally do not get moved so much by music, but man... Almost brought a tear to my eye.

at first, i considered those, too but it kinda looks like that they stick quiet a bit out of the ear (just like my XBA1's do) wich makes them rather uncomfortable if you listen while lying down in the bed (wich i want to do)... i think i should have mentioned that before though...
