P.S.  Let me just save you a lot of $$ and searching if you're looking to get it done in one swoop.  Roll 6sn7/12sn7 Sylvania Bad Boys (True bad boys from 1952) or Tung Sol Round Plates and you'll be in paradise with that amp.  If you're looking for some nice value tubes, I'd keep an eye out for cheap Hytron 12sn7 to roll as an alternative.
Thanks again for your advice. I will look for some 6SN7/ 12SN7 Sylvania Bad Boys. Please take care and may your headphone rig always put a smile on your face .smily_headphones1.gif

My favorite amp would be the Liquid Glass. I find the Liquid Glass sounds far better than the Liquid Crimson, plus its farr easier to roll tubes on the LG than on the LCR. I prefer the Liquid Crimson to the Liquid Carbon. The soundstage on the Liquid Crimson is far larger and more resolute than the Liquid Carbon.

Does the Glass have a phase splitter to get BA signal from a SE input, like the Carbon?

Looks like I can finally get one.....

I am not sure how to answer that question, I need to find the manual. Hopefully someone will answer your question, before I get back to you.

OK, that makes it easier on me, and prevents me from even thinking about getting a Yggy, thereby saving me money!

The quote below is from @reddog in post #7113 in the Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Flagship thread:
I have used the following amps to make my HE1K sing like a muse: 1 Schiit Audio Mjolnir 2; 2 Schiit Audio Ragnarock; 3 Liquid Audio Crimson and 4 Liquid Glass.

The Mjolnir 2 does a good job at running the HE1K. The bass is nice and tight, with good impact, that does not leak into the mids. Likewise the mids are smooth and depending upon the tubes used, lush or very revealing. I used current production Telefunken TK's in the MJ2. My favorite tubes to use in the MJ2 are my NOS Telefunken E88CC Platinum tubes.

The Schiit Audio Ragnarock is a powerful beast of a amp that makes the HE1K sound bloody fantastic. The bass is very tight, with lots of slam and impact, yet in never muddies up the mids. Furthermore the bass is textured and revealing as well. The mids are so sweet, lush and ever so natural and revealing. Finally the highs are spot on perfect, ever revealing and neutral sounding, do to fantastic micro detail.

The Liquid Crimson really makes the HE1K sound very good. The bass is ever so nice with good impact, that gets my foot thumping. The mids are lush yet very natural sounding. Furthermore the highs are rock solid and are not sybilant.

Finally the mighty Liquid Glass just makes the HE1K sound magical. Depending upon tubes used, the bass is so deep sounding with such impact, I felt the fillings in my mouth rattle, yet the bass never leaks into the mids. And the mids are just exquisite, the vocals and what have you sound so lush and revealing. The overall sound is so musical, I have a hard time walking away from my rig. Likewise the highs on the Liquid Glass are spot on perfect. No signs of fatiguing sybilance, just ethereal sounding micro detail, that allows the sound to be pristine and ever so natural sounding.
I used Schiit Audio's Yggdrasil dac on all of the amps mentioned.

Note the DAC used was the Yggdrasil.

Note the two balanced amplifiers are lowest in his rankings.

And that is why I will be doing all I can and selling all I must to get the Glass. It's the only amp people use words like "magical" or "ethereal" (Alex) for. I'm not looking for something to listen to music on, I'm looking for something to provide me with a spiritual experience. wink.gif

Screw the music, I just like the sound. :p

For example, I play shakuhachi, the Japanese bamboo flute. I've spent ungodly amounts of money over the years on flutes with incredible timbre, some of them hundreds of years old. There are some really interesting pieces of music you can play on these, but in the end I often just end up playing single notes to appreciate the pure sound.

If I sell a bunch of stuff now and buy a Glass, I still won't get it until September or later. Seven months is a loooong time to wait.

Schiit's Vali 2 is only $169, and it appears good for the money. I know pretty much zero about tubes. Would any tube usable on the Vali 2 also be usable on the Glass? I'd love to spend the 7 months collecting tubes in preparation for my Glass. On the Vali 2 page it says: "ECC88, 6922, 6DJ8, 2492, etc" tubes are OK.
