Man I haven't listened to the S400/500's in awhile and put them on this evening and the bass difference is quite huge. 500's have crazy bass. Love these babies.

I've been wondering how much of a difference between the two there is, even though I really don't need any other headphones now. Between the S500's and my HFI-780's, I'm pretty happy. But the S400's are so cheap, I'll just have to get some sooner or later, I think.

S400's are worth it without a doubt. Better balanced sound. Not as extended but still sound fantastic.

Only when you get to 1K..
Got 500hrs+ on mine before the S400 arrived, That could have explained why I got jabbed in the ears when I connected them to the ELE DAC and place them on ears without checking the volume first !

Loads of people use these with their smartphones including me, performance is perfect from most of them. Including HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3.post #3579 of 638112/8/12 at 12:03pm- 7S Cameron

simply use them. I don't know why everyone keeps asking questions on how to "burn in" their hps. simply using them you can enjoy them while you break em in.

They are very easy to drive and sound amazing on my sgs2. I just listened to the note 2 (using my xba3's) and the SQ is even better on the note, so the s500 will sound incredible on it.post #3584 of 638112/8/12 at 3:00pmI'm very intrigued by these phones, cheap price, pretty good looks and it seems as if most here are very positive about them.
Would be cool if anyone could give some comments about how they compare to the m80 and HD25 1 ii. Also, where is the best place to get them when in Europe? Is it still ebay, as seems like the most common site when I've read through this thread?

there are comparisons to the m80 and the hd25 already (check out the linked ones on the first post or search)
i think you can only get them from japan?
ebay seems pretty reasonable so thats why most people got them thereReturn HomeBack to Forum: Portable Headphones, Earphones and In-Ear Monitors- The JVC HA-S500.. Appreciation, fan thread.
