Kinda missed you, "upside down cat" ( I am cat lover extraordinaire myself ).

 

So - how does your latest creation sound like ?

LOL your upside down cat comment made me chuckle.

 

Well what I have now sounds a whole lot wider. Soundstage is definitely nearer to full sized cans right now.

The bass seems to be boosted by quite a wide margin and there is some sibilance on vocals and highs right now... depending on the music that is.

 

Overall the comfort is top notch now and despite introducing some new flaws to the sound, it is still really quite enjoyable.

Wrong impressions earlier (I played flo rida, that explains the boosted bass lol) . Bass is actually less and the mids and highs has more clarity to it.

Mine have been in customs at LAX for 2 days now....... Grrrrrrrrrr. Frustrating that they are just down the street and i cant have them yet!

I don't think so. If they did, it was included in the stated shipping cost, which was $23.55.

I had similar results transplanting to the Koss dj100. The highs were actually a little too bright. I used the foam driver covers that were stuck in the s600 cups and with those over the drivers on the dj100 the sound balanced back out.

Oh good. Hope im clear too.

BTW my next post will make one hundred and bring me to a higher coveted head-fi "status". I am going to have to formulate something very deep, meaningful and learned to post to celebrate it.

I'm finally going to get my S500s tomorrow! They came today, but no one was at the house so I have to go to the post office to get them. I can't wait :D

As far as I know, still import-only.....ebay or Amazon.com.  Don't know about stateside arrival......they're not on JVC's US website, for whatever that's worth.
