Great! I think I will pull the plug on these if I get an answer to the questions I have.

I wonder if the Grado SR60s would fit the bill?  Might be worth your time to read a review or two.  They've won a ton of awards over the years.

I'm not so sure if the the soundstage is the largest, but I know the seperation is supposed to be great.

Bump for other answers.

Lower-end Grado's all have a quite small soundstage. The airy sound is often mistaken for a large soundstage though.

I've found that using judicious EQ can totally expand the soundstage of many of my phones. If you can't/don't want to do it yourself use an app  like Power Amp or even just a cheap amp (Fiio E6) with some EQ presets.

I have a fiio e11, would that be suitable?

The E11 should be fine for pretty much anything under $300. I'm talking in terms of power, not necessarily sound quality.

Thanks for the help. Still pondering the ts 671, hi 2050 and the lower end grados.

Decided against the grados. it now becomes between the HI 2050 or the TS 671.

My other cans that I own are in this thread. I just need to know if the 671 is too big to my small head.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bump.

If you can get your hands on the AKG K501, it's reported to have an amazing soundstage, almost comparable to the HD800 and T1.
