Hello. I'm new here so... HI! I'm looking to buy my first quality audio setup for my laptop. I would like the headphones to cost around $100-$170 and the DAC/Headphone amp to cost around $100, but I'd be willing to consider spending more. Here are some points to consider:
1.) These headphones are going to be used to produce electronic music on FL Studio 10. I'm somewhat of a noob in music production, but I plan on going far.
2.) Most of the music that I listen to ranges around hard rock and electronic, but I also listen to other styles including neoclassical and nu metal.
3.) These are some of the types of bands and styles that I listen to:
A.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zm3wMB0KjQ4
B.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYhxHWaWA6Q
C.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZCYpkWj6Z4 ( I also really like Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by these guys)
D.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RirEqehfsg
E.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLPYX5iyVk0
F.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcLqVfKTtKw
4.) I don't listen to that much acoustic music.
5.) I would like a good amount of bass, but not so much that it drowns out mids and highs (that would completely ruin some of the hard rock songs) or becomes muddy.
6.) I will probably end up getting the DAC at a different time so I would like to have some headphones that can sound good without an amp.
7.) I would like this setup to be somewhat portable.
8.) These headphones will be used almost exclusively for making and listening to music.
9.) I would like pounding bass, smooth mids, and crisp highs.
10.) Most of the time that I'll be using these my family will be around so they can't leak to much sound.
11.) They need to be available on Amazon or better yet, Wallmart.com. (I have a gift card for Wallmart so... yeah.)
Thank you for your help! :)
