Is this a FAD? It's not one of the new heavens, they have the same body as the IV? If this is a FAF it looks a bit like an Adagion as it has the same dents in the front of the housing.

Were was this found?

The news section of the FAD site. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://final-audio-design.com/&prev=/search%3Fq%3DFinal%2BAudio%2Bdesign%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3DjMN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26prmd%3Dimvns&sa=X&ei=vn0eUNP8BoXl0QHJnIA4&ved=0CFoQ7gEwAg

I was actually wondering it might actually be a new model or close it if there where pics in that catalog. Though it may just be something they built for the classes/workshops and not portray/give away anything new.

I had originally thought of popping the pic out there and seeing where it went but I'll fess up. evil_smiley.gif I was just gonna ask about the catalog and if it might be online with some pics of the upcoming models so I popped over to FAD and saw that pic.

Hmmmm, i do not think the translation we get is actually that spot on and we could be missing something but it seems to be from a workshop?

Anyway, the catalog is online and can be found for download on the FAD appreciation thread.

Heres a little review of the Heaven IV,

Build Quality / Fit

The FAD Heaven IV like the e-Q5 is very well built imo with the stainless steel housing that looks really nice.  They have a flat tangle free cable not unlike Beats that also gives them a nice look, really these are one of the nicest looking IEM's I've had a chance to use.  They have a L shaped plug with the standard gold plated jack.  I've had them get caught and pulled out of my ears and the cables held up great so the build quality of these are quite good.

As for the fit there's really nothing to complain about at all.  With the 2 different style tips they give you its not hard to get a good isolating fit with these, I like the more rounded tips but the others work just as good.  I thought they might get a little heavy feeling after a long listening session because of the steel housing but not so they felt fine after I had them in for about 4 hours.  Like the e-Q5 the don't have the little chin slider that helps you get a more secure fit but since these are worn down you really don't need one imo.  Over all a very nice fitting IEM that can be worn for long periods of time with no problems.

Sound Quality,

Bass - The bass of the Heaven IV was quite shocking to me but in a very good way.  They have the most bass impact and depth I've heard from a single BA by far.  They can compete with they bass of the triple BA TF10 no problem which when you think about is kinda amazing for a small single BA.  The bass is very strong but doesn't over power the mids or treble imo and they sound great with hip hop and edm and I could even see some bass heads that would like the response of the Heaven IV's bass.  Using my E11 amp on EQ 1 the bass hits pretty hard and has good depth and no distortion even at high volume.

Mids - Here's where the Heaven IV stands out from the crowd with a quite unique sounding midrange.  Its hard for me to describe them because I've never heard an IEM with this kind of midrange presentation before.  They have a warm tone with good detail but it feels like there's a unique coloration to them .  I'll listen to the same track with my e-Q5 then with the Heaven IV and say a melodies that sound more distant with the e-Q5 is more forward on the Heaven but not in a mid-centric way, like I said it hard to explain but the coloration they did to the mids works with these.  They can sound a touch dark from time to time on certain tracks but over all I like the mids.

Highs - Like many other IEM's I've reviewed the highs are a bit more laid back but still have some sparkle when the track calls for it.  Good detail but they might miss out on some of the micro detail that say the R-50 or HF5 can pick up on.  The extension of the treble is good and I can hear it up around the 16 kHz area.

Soundstage - This is another strong point of the Heaven IV with a very spacious sounding soundstage.  They are as wide sounding as the GR07 with the depth and height of the e-Q5 which makes them one of the largest soundstages I've heard from an IEM.  Imaging is quite good but there are sets that do it better but separation is top notch and you can hear every individual instrument and sound from a song.

The Heaven IV is a very capable IEM with good detail, bass that should satisfy most people and a very spacious soundstage and with a retail price around $200 I think reasonably priced for the quality you get.

Lovely write up mate and i am glad you found them suitable for EDM. As for the rest of it i couldn't disagree with anything you say and i guess you now understand my predicament when it comes to talking about the mids, they are very difficult to explain, something that has to be heard. Seems like your enjoying them which is great and i guess i will have to say, welcome to the FAD way of things!

Thanks man and now they have me wanting the hear the other Heaven series IEM's and thoughs are said to have an even larger soundstage.

They should have a hugely large soundstage in comparison to this as all the others are vented and these are not so i should hope so. I also wanna try the others! Maybe in time i will but i have other priorities.

I tried to get Dimitri from Musica Acoustic to send me a review set of the Heaven S or C but he didn't have any.  I am getting a few Fischer IEM's to review for here and my blog, iemsounds.blogspot.com, the Tandem, Silver Bullet and the Consonance so that will be fun.  The blogs nothing fancy just some to the point reviews IEM's I have or had, I only have 10 right now (the Heaven IV being number 10) but its only be up since May 31.  I never would have thought that when I bought my first good IEM that it was going to turn into an addiction, better this then something else right ;)

I've noticed that these are very source dependent IEM's at least imo they are.  With a brighter sounding player like my Fuze or my Pantech Burst phone the Heaven IV sound very good with a much more revealing midrange.  On a warmer sounding player like my Sony or J3 they have to much warmth and lose some of the midrange detail and the highs also suffer.  So now that I've found the right set up I'm liking the sound of these a lot though I still like the e-Q5 over all a bit more.

The more I listen to these the more I start to appreciate the way they portray music.  On one hand they kinda remind me a little of the TF10 because of the bass response and the large soundstage but then you get to though's mids and that's where the comparisons come to a quick end.  There's like this added distance to the mids but it doesn't make them sound far away if that make any sense at all and the way they separate the sound, man I've never had so much trouble trying to describe a midrange sound signature before, one thing I do know is that they're very engaging.  I'm glad I didn't give up on them because when I first started to listen to them I wasn't all that impressed but now I have a battle for playing time going on between the Heaven IV and e-Q5 :)

Now like I said in another post they are quite source dependent imo because they don't sound as good with warmer sounding players like my Sony and J3.  On my Fuze and my phone (which is what I'm using as I listen to them now) they sound much better with more detail in the mids and highs.

I'll be getting the RE262 tomorrow so its going to be interesting to see how they compare to the e-Q5 and Heaven IV.  I'm going to through some edm like trance at them to see how they respond but I didn't get them for that so if they do sound good then that's just a big plus.

Thanks again for the hook up on these Swim.

Oh thats a shame. Awesome, the tandem is really nice sounding, so forgiving. Yeh i have tried 48 IEMs as of today (more including rubbish IEMs) and when my website gets up and running its gonna have some much content, i cant wait!

Yeh my sources is rather bright and my amp neutral so they helped a bit then i reckon, my J3 did not do it nearly as much justice. I rated the EQ-5 generally higher as well.

oh yes i was the same, in fact when i went away for a week to the national swimming championships, i took my m-80s (as was reviewing) my Ex1000 (didnt have the 4.ai yet) and the IV for a bit of a fun listen (left EQ5 at home).

Let us know how the 262 compare!

Was a pleasure glad your happy!
