Kickstarter has a new company called Rika that is selling some portable wooden headphones. They have three models, an IEM. two on-ears. With an attractive shell, and a pricetag under $100, I think these have the potential to be quite popular. What do you all think?

I've listened to the less expensive over ear phones, the bamboo ones. They sound great! Much like my Senn. HD448's. Great bass.

May I ask where you got a chance to listen to them?

One of the principal owners of the company goes to my church. He brought them over for an audition on my tube preamp. He heard that I was an audiophile and built tube stereo gear and wanted my opinion.

I want to hear the cherry ones to see how much better they are, I think they use the same driver. The bamboo ones sound wonderful, especially considering the price.

I did a review on my blog if you're interested: http://adventuresinmodioland.blogspot.com/

Well, it looks like they didn't meet their Kickstarter goal, which they set too high for an initial foray. Though there was much interest and many pledges they fell short.

They will be setting an new lower goal on Kickstarter. I am going to pledge - anyone care to join me??
