Beyerdynamic T70P VS. Hifiman HE-400 ! - Page 3

The HE400 are better technically.  Faster with less resonance issues and less distortion in the bass.  Smoother treble by far, and smoother response in general, more natural sounding.  I'd go with the HE400 myself.

Hm... I dont think I'm going with the MD or Paradox... I've finally narrowed it down to these Denon D5k/D7K/HE-400... And could anyone tell me the differences between the D2K/D5K/D7K?

Hmm... Just did and a lot of people said from the D2K to the D5K is a huge upgrade in terms of bass texture, quantity, etc yet the D5K to the D7K isn't much of an upgrade... I'm not entirely sure about that though.

I cant seem to find a pair of D5K's only D7k's but they're out of my maximum budget... Any one know where I could get a pair shipped to New Zealand?

They seem to be out of stock everywhere so far. At least that's what some sites say* Headroom is notorious for being slow at updating availability

There's like 15 pairs of D5000s on amazon. I would look into the trade forums or get someone to ship a pair to you from the states or something. That is assuming there aren't cheaper local options available.

Thanks,

Yes here in New Zealand I only know two local shops who sell it and they're priced at 850 NZD which is maybe 700 USD?

I saw a pair going for $400 but didn't ship internationally... So I hope to find another pair around that price, or else I'll just go with the HE-400... And if I cant find that anywhere here I'll just go to ALO Audio...

I used to have HE-400, D5000 and D7000 at the same time and FOR ME HE-400 and D5000 have equal quality bass but maybe because of my setup HE-400's treble were not as  as good as D5000/7000 (D7000 treble are more refined than D5000 FOR ME) so i currently own D7000. While D5000/7000 use pleather pads I have no problems using them for at least 3 hours every day and have no any comfort issues, they are put on and forget for me while HE-400 are way heavier and may be not for every body liking. I also heard T70p at the same meet I heard Mad Dogs but T70p while having more bass had more brighter highs, but after the met Dan made a change which affects bass so I'm quoting Dan "After NY, I did tune the bass to have more and deeper output. They definitely have more impact from 200Hz down to 15Hz, without congesting the mids or affecting the highs"

I'ts not physically possible for a crappy dynamic to have equal quality bass to a large driver ortho.

Well I'm still not sure...

How is the HE-400's bass? Is there an equal amount of bass compared to the D7K? And how does it compare to the D7K in general, sound staging, treble, separation, etc.

Did you read any of my posts?

Sorry, I went over to re-read and saw them. I heard heaps of great things about the D7K and HE400 but I might stick to the HE400 because of its price tag.
