I think it would be Fine, I've heard good things about the e10 and e11's.

Is it more for portable usage?

Sony MDR-V6 are amazing for their current price. Blow most headphones in their range out of the water, very clear sound and great frequency range.

So much about picking a headphone is personal preference. Do you have the ability to go to a store and audition some? If you told us which ones sounded good to your ears it would be possible to make better recommendations. Some here like the Sennheiser HD 202 for an entry level budget phone.

Not portable, but I use a laptop mostly and move around the house alot, so it's just easier for me to have to have it small :)

Unfortunately I didn't I live in Birmingham UK, where I couldn't find any shops that specialized in headphones. But I'm glad I went with the AD700 :)

The E7 is a nice amp, I got to use it at a Head-Fi meet. If you want to move into higher-impedance stuff, I'd take a look at a used Presonus Audiobox USB.

I may buy another soon that's more punchy with bass. But the AD700s, I can't emphasize how good they are for my classical tastes and surprisingly at Touhou music and Violin etc., they just seem to emphasize all the high pitched sounds really nicely! Getting Happier and happier with my choice as the days go on! :D
