Woo Audio WA22 Balanced Amplifier with vintage tubes/valve upgrades
Will Ship To: Anywhere
I am selling my upgraded silver WOO Audio WA22 balanced headphone amplifier. This cost me over £2000 last year, and i upgraded all the tubes/valves to aftermarket models to improve the sound quality at considerable cost. The amplifier has received about 50 hours of overall burn in time and has been lightly used/loved. I moved to a speaker setup a while ago and just dont get the time to listen to my headphones as much anymore.
I tested this amplifier with DENON D7000, Audeze LCD2/3 and HiFi Man He500/HE6. With the tube upgrade the HE6 sounded great, before I sold them. Not many headphone amplifiers can power these demanding headphones.
This amplifier is fully balanced with both XLR3x2 and XLR4x1 offered. It is a 230V UK model but is switchable.
I will ship this anywhere, but the costs for shipping are yours. This weighs around 12kg all in, so its expensive to ship outside the UK. if you are interested, send me your country location and post code and I can get back to you with courier prices. I will not ship this outside the UK without a trackable, insured service such as DHL.
I have included a lot of images showing the overall condition, which is mint, if a little dusty in parts as it was mostly inactive for the last couple of months. It is 7 months old and still under direct warranty with Jack Woo at WOO AUDIO in New York.
There are matched PSVANE high end driver tubes, which cost me £100. A full Music Audio rectifier tube which cost £130 and two vintage extremely rare TUNG SOL 5998 power tubes which offer more power than the standard tubes, but are very hard to find now especially in a matched pair. These are both warm yet detailed and a perfect match for this lovely amplifier.
These tubes will be removed for shipping, so simply follow the guide on the amplifier to reinsert them fully, or use the images in this auction if you are inexperienced.
I have the original box and the amplifier is already stored away for shipping. It will be sent DHL tracked in the UK, overnight with insurance. This will be around £40 with insurance (I wont ship this without insurance to protect both buyer and myself), but I will pay for half of the cost of shipping myself to ensure that costs are not too high for the winner.
I am accepting good offers, but please, no low ballers or 'bargain hunters'. I have no need to rush sell this. I just dont use it anymore, but that doesnt mean im willing to lose a fortune.
I work out that this amplifier cost me around £3,000 including the tube upgrades, custom fees and original price. It is a seriously high end amplifier and one of the best I have heard with a wide range of balanced and single ended headphones (it will take any connection).
Note, there is no power cable with this amplifier, none is supplied and I use £300 power cables, so this is not included as part of the auction. You need to buy your own, which can range between £2 and £1,000 depending on how serious you take noise filtering and cabling.
