Some help deciding. Yamaha EPH-100SL or UE-700?

This is my situation -

I currently have a pair of Sony MDR-EX510's that I use daily. I've had them for about a year or so and came from a pair of Sony earbuds in the past (can't remember model, like EX71 or something).

I bought the EX-510's cause I got them about $50 cheaper than they are now. I like nice earbuds and something that sounds good and I think the Sony's I have sound pretty good.. I listen to Hip-Hop (more old school). I have been looking for some new earbuds as I never loved the 510's as I hate the wrap around the neck cord that they and all sony earbuds have.

I use them mainly with my phones and my current one is the Samsung GS3. I was considering the Yamaha EPH-100Sl because of the look/size and the positive reviews they have going on. They also fit my budget ($150). I was also considering the UE 700's though because they're small and have no mic and the fact that bestbuy has them. I have a $100 gift card for bestbuy so these would cost me like $40 out of pocket. I don't wanna buy something that's gonna be junk though. So if the UE's are junk, I'd rather not buy them, despite having the gift card.

What would you guys do/What would you suggest I do?

Also, is the plug on the UE 700's the straight plug now or the L-shape?

Edit: I live in the city and am on the train or near lots of people/traffic all the time so I want the ones that won't lose quality of sound from outer noise like the kind I'm around.

Thanks for the help.

I like UE700 because they are comfortable and light and good noise isolation.  The wire where it meets the jack is very delicate and it will probably pull out of the jack eventually.  I replaced my jack and shortened the wire so it fits my needs better.  I can't tell you much about how good they sound as I am not an expert.  They do sound pretty good to me.  I wear them all day long at work every single day.

Thanks. Is it an L shape plug or straight? On some reviews the cord is not an L shape. Yet logitechs site says L shape and an amazon review shows an L shape.
