A good 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter?

What do people think is best if used with a moderately good cable? Where is the best place to get such adapters?

That is a very good adapter.  Gives you several inches so as to not put stress on the headphone out if you use it on a table for example.

I agree, I'm sure that is pretty good. Made by Grado, after all.

 

But is there anything better? That's what I'd like to ask opinions about.

 

I'm considering upgrading my cables to something more expensive than stock, for my wooden headphones; the various improved cables floating around often have 1/4 inch plugs (or balanced plugs, which I cannot use, having no balanced amp), and I need a matching adapter to get it down to 1/8.

 

Is there any adapter better than that for <$100. Does using an adapter negate some of the advantages of using a better cable in terms of neutrality, or does it merely add resistance?

 

What do people here actually prefer to use as their adapter, if they need one, for modded cables?

There is no sound degradation with an adapter lion.  I have various recabled headphones as well and personally use this one due to the others' lack of stress relief on the jack.  The Ultrasone adapter is nice too, but it's just the jack so it adds stress to the headphone jack, especially with upgraded cables.
