Is it OK to leave headphones plugged in to the amp?

Thread Starter

I've just realized I've left my M50's plugged into my Benchmark DAC1 (which has a headphone amp built in) for about 6 months straight. The DAC1 has been turned on all this time.

Is this bad for the headphones?

Plugged in and the device is always on? No that's no problem. For any amp (unless the amp itself overheats/otherwise has problems being on 24x7, but I don't see that being an issue for something like the Benchmark).

With a properly designed amp, it should be no problem to power cycle the thing either.

Only bad for your power bill!wink_face.gif
