Hey everyone, I'm looking for some headphones for general music listening.  I love lots of bass so I've been looking at the crossfades and pro700s.

I can't decide between the two because I have heard very nice reviews from both.  I like the folding ear cups on the pro700s but the crossfades look more stylish in general.

Just a side thing... I know there's a limited edition crossfade LP2.  They cost $80 more but I heard they're not worth the price difference.

What do you think?

I don't have the Crossfade LPs, but they are quite similar to the LP2 from reviews. In fact, the latter are a slightly tweaked LP. They are actually different headphones, and the LP2 is not a limited edition of the LP.

With that said, the Crossfade LPs are renowned for pumping lots of bass. The bass can be quite muddy, and this seems to be even more apparent on the Crossfade LP. In fact, you'll be hearing the wall of bass effect quite often on the LP2.

The PRO700MK2 on the other hand, are more detailed basshead cans. The sheer quantity isn't as great as that on the LP/LP2, but they produce more clarity in its sound signature. Bass presentation is punchy, detailed and with good sub-bass extension.

Thanks for the reply.  Sounds like I'll be going with the Pro700-MK2s unless I'm convinced otherwise.
