LOL, HiFiGuy knows how I feel about fashion headphones like Beats/Monster and their ilk (Soul/SMS/etc.). Just having some fun chiding him a bit, and reminding him that fellow Head-Fiers (bros) depend on his impartial impressions more than fashion headphone manufacturers (hos) depend on his publicity. It's not the best analogy if I'm to be honest. But it's freakin' hot today so I'm not at my best.
Was NOT calling you a ho or anything if you're wondering about that.

LOL i know you weren't calling me a Ho LOL but HiFiGuy is is own person so he can judge and review any Headphones he wants, he shouldn't care what others think.Quote:The Ncredible are not Beats they are a Monster Headphone made my Nick Cannon.
Edited by Bradsnake412 - 7/21/12 at 12:21ampost #22 of 917/21/12 at 12:22amThe Ncredible line is not a part of the Beats line. I tried out both the iBeats and the Ncredible Nergy EIMs. iBeats sounds muddy and over powered with too much bass. The Ncredible Nergy on the other hand had a much more neutral sound signature with more treble. Definitely not a bass head IEM. I tried the Ncredible Ntune in store only and from what I can tell they sounded better than the Beats Solo HD since the Bass wasnt as over powering but they still where overpriced (although cheaper than Beats solo) at 130$ ish. The IEM is actually a good price at 60$ though.
post #23 of 917/21/12 at 12:48amAlso @BradSnake412 I own a pair of the SMS Street by 50 (Probably one of the few who do on this forum) and I can say they sound nothing like the Beats Line. Im only an Amateur so I cant give a pro review but I can try n describe what they sound like to me. The bass isn't over powering like the beats line but instead it has more of a punch? its lighter and doesn't over power the mids like the Beats Headphones (Studios and Solos). Vocals seem to be good but the treble is a little too high for my taste so It can sound a little high pitched sometimes. a small adjustment to an equalizer setting on my mp3 fixed this though. My main concern with these is the Pads. When I push the driver a little closer to my head they sound better to me. The Bass gets deeper and the treble gets a little less harsh (I have sensitive ears so Treble can irritate me easily) so if Possible I would Like to change the pads with more ear shaped ones that bring the driver a little closer to my ears. the round ones dont cut it but I have no idea what pads would fit on these cans. The Headphones feel a little plasticy but the Build is great. They are bendable so they wont snap unless u try to snap them. They dont fold eather so they can be a hassle to carry around but the detachable cord is nice. Out of all the Celeb headphones to me these look the best and probably sound the best out of the bunch though.

Okay, just makin' sure.
Quote:Of course, and he does review whatever he wants. But from time to time he does ask us what we think should be reviewed, and from time to time we make requests as to what we would like to see reviewed. It's a simple and elegant partnership of sorts (between presenter and audience). It just works. I for one am firmly subscribed to his channel and eagerly await his unboxings, impressions and shoot-outs.
But I also like to joke around with him a bit about some of the lo-fi stuff he reviews. Am I against lo-fi cans? No, of course not as I own a bunch. But a certain portion of his audience (myself included) value his impressions of mid-fi (and above) items. Lemme just put it this way, its just a joking reminder that his name is HiFiGuy528 and not LoFiGuy666, know what I mean?

I think I'm gonna pretend I never saw this thread.
I honestly do not think it is ok for users to be going on like Beats makes acceptable products, it sends the wrong message to newbies, and many members have worked hard to cover every inch of this place with "beats is crap" so that even on a quick google search inexperienced users will know.
The facts are, they are overpriced, have subpar sound quality for even half the retail price, have grossly subpar build quality.
We should not feel sorry for beats or monster, they made crap and made lots of money off of it, now the people that wise up shouldn't question if we have overreacted, because we haven't.
I'm not bashing beats here in particular I'm bashing the idea that these sub par products should even get a slightly lenient review.
Hifiguy, as a reviewer I'm sure you review whatever comes your way, but I urge you to be careful, just because the brand is nice to you, does not mean you need to suck up to them to say thanks, be honest, or someone else will, and you will lose your credibility.
My biased unrelenting advice, place the following line in the initial post. "Although beats generally make seriously sub par products, I am presented with the opportunity to objectively review some of there newer products."
Or something to that extent
Peace

Regardless if the manufacture sent me the cans or not, my impressions and reviews are unbiased. As for the Beats, I bought them with my own money so if I do end up liking the line, people can't say it's because I got it from the manufacture and I'm being PC.

if its a new product i would give it a fair chance to prove/disprove itself....
having said that, bad reputation is incredibly difficult to shake off.

at the other end of the continuum, i am not terribly impressed by the price/performance ratio of the top tier cans
under more reputable brands like beyer, ultrasones...(okok i wont mention the seins and the audeze )
its easier for them to make adjustments with 70, 700 v2 v3 etc riding on their good reputation...
and the headfiers will still tweak them with amps..dacs...cables..without much complaints.

hmmm...i could never get some good bass from my t5p. anyway i have put that behind me.
