Fiio e7 on home CD player (with RCA->jack adaptator)

Hi everybody,

first of all I apologize for my English as some of the words I'll use may be false considering these are words I don't use everyday in English (I'm French) :/

I'd like to know if I can plug my home CD player on my Fiio e7 (I use it to run my shure SE-215 and Hifiman HE-300). I mean, instead of plugging the RCA cables to my amplifier, can I plug it via an adaptator RCA=>Jack to the Fiio E7? And...is it useful?

Thank you very much for your time.

You can indeed attach it to your CD player.  You can use an RCA to stereo adapter or simply go from the headphone jack or stereo output jack on your CD player to the FiiO.  Only your ears will tell whether you prefer the sound of the FiiO or your home stereo amp, but it will be a good test to do regardless of the results.

I'm sorry I did not really understand what you wanted to say...^^

But from what I understood, I would answer no. My CD player is an old one and the only thing that I can use to connect it to any kind of amplifier is RCA...

Thank y'all for your answer. I really wanted to know if that was possible; I don't want to break my brand new Fiio ;)

Don't worry, my french is a bit stale.

Yes, you can definately do that. If you start to hear high distortion, then it means you have to lower the volume. That would mean that your are outputting too much power with the CD power, in case you were worried.

Remember to turn the volume down on both devices before trying.
