Black Dragon with ultrasone pro 900s...anyone have?

Hey forums,

 

So like many of you I am obsessed with the "headphone game" and though I like my Ultrasones I of course want to make them better. I have been reading about re-cabling, but there is not a lot of literature about how the ultrasones sound with the black dragon. I was wondering if anyone out there had gotten the black dragon and what you guys had to say about it as compared to the blue dragon (the silver is not for me as I don't want to lose bass). Any input that anyone could offer on the subject would be most appreciated. Thanks

Hey DB,

 

Unless things have changed, the black dragon could not be used as a removable Ultrasone cable due to its thickness for the plug.  Re-cabling double entry with black dragon on the PRO900s was an option Drew offered, however I never took the plunge.

Wow man thanks for the save. I totally would have dived without looking and have been, well, ****ed. Looks like its blue dragon all the way...do you have the BD? do you like it?

lol...My pleasure DB...I use blue dragon and silver dragon removable Ultrasone.  Love 'em...Also, it's very difficult for the PRO900s to lose bass, no matter how hard you try with a cable...lol...The silver just brings out the top end a bit more.

 

You were a tad too late...I cut down my inventory months back and sold several of them that I had in various sizes.

Balls, but such is the way of life. So let me nag you with one more question; you recommend the silver dragon? Is that going to burst my eardrum with "bright" noise when I try to listen to music really loudly? I have heard that it makes them a bit piercing, but I 'm not sure how respectable the person I heard that from was, so maybe you should clarify. thanks brother!

Well, the detail is better in the silver with a bit high end pronounced.  I made the comment on the silver because you thought the bass will be less.  Honestly, I would go for the blue bro, which has a more balanced sound, imo.

 

Would love to hear your impressions with the E17...
