Hey there!

Got my Audio Technica's for 6 years already, so i need a replacement.

I'm not hep to anything regarding headphones these days, so are there any better headphones than ATH-A500 in the same price range out there? ($130-180)

I'm listening to music and watching movies only.

Thanks!

Well, my ATH-A500 goes straight to my Creative sound card. No amp involved.

Though some cheap amp isn't excluded if necessary.

Replace it with the Asus Xonar DG sound card, comes with Dolby surround sound (for movies).

Might improve the sound of your current ATH-A500s, get a little more life out of them.

also the dg has a little headphone amp, which would help a lot

Thanks for suggesting the Xonar sound card!

How about the X-Fi Titanium HD (SB1270)? I've read it's one of the first Creative X-Fi cards that sensible for music listening. Even surpassing Auzentech products.

I don't listen to any specific music genre but anything good out there. And if it's FLAC the better.
