Opinions on Schiit Lyr with K701 and/or HE-500

Let me start this by saying that my current setup is Squeezebox -> Peachtree Decco -> K701s.   I am not unhappy with this setup, just a annoyed with having to manually plug in headphones when I want to switch to headphones, etc.  They sound great, but I need a headamp again for general ease of use.  I think I have decided on the Schiit Bitfrost/Lyr combo for my headphone setup, so I have a couple of questions.

 

1) What are people's impressions of the Bitfrost/Lyr combo powering K701s.

 

2) Considering that I am fairly happy with the sound of my current setup, is it worth looking into something like the HE-500 to pair with the Schiit?

 

3) How do the K701 and HE-500 compare on the Schiit?

 

I probably would not be getting rid of the K701s, as my kids mangled the K240Ms that I was using for computer audio, and I need something to replace them.

I know the he500 are great with them but I never tries k701s

Well, the schiit's on its way, I guess we will see how it pans out.  Still curious about the K701 vs the HE-500 though

Just an update.  The Schiit stack has been here since Saturday and I have spent a good bit of time with it.  Frankly I am impressed.  It has added a bit more low end to the K701s and is an all around great performer. In fact I am having a hard time justifying upgrading the headphones. There isn't anything I feel like I am missing.
