Ok, I'll try it tonight. Thank you!

I've been wanting to get my hands on a pair of these for a while now, I love modding headphones to tune them to what I want to hear. So far I've used a bit of Dynamat on the inside of the cups, and used some hard plastic over the back of the driver with some white-tack holding it on and providing some space between the two. That has increased the sub-bass and impact a lot. I really like the change. These things have more mods to come along with a paint job. I'm pretty excited to dig into these things more!
Interesting. I agree with you on the treble.

What exactly were the changes you heard when you removed the felt in front of the driver?
just did this! did exactly as advertised!

EDIT: I added some photos, explanations for all photos, details about the build, and rationale for the current experiments treating our headphone "listening room."

+1, very nice. I also added the HD600 headband that increased comfort a lot smily_headphones1.gif

Tomorrow I'll get the Fiio E12 as well. Will be interesting to see how it works with the T50RP since the opinions on the pairing seems pretty inconsistent.

What exactly did you do? The felt removal or what I did to the back of my drivers?

I think felt on front side smooths overall response so removing it might have other side effects.

As usually the Swede is the one that doesn't get the joke (or the mod) :confused_face(1):

It smoothed out the treble, sure, but I also think it was holding the upper mids back. I like my headphones bright, so I like the change in sound it brought, others might not feel the same way.

I removed the thin felt over the front of the driver on the ear side. There is very thin mesh under that that is still there, I have stock cups with nothing in. And shure 840 pads with the felt removed also, and I have a silver and copper re cable
It's much brighter. I would say it sounds slightly darker than hifiman he400
I plan on attaching the felt I removed off the front and securing it to the back of the driver

Just ordered some Shure 840 pads for these. Man, I took the stockers off like 3 times and they're already trying to rip and fray. JUNK.

Yes, "Your Grace." (I'm a Game of Thrones Fan!)

Go to Post #1 in this thread and check out 'nick n's' "MemFoamMod" and my "Balsa Wood" and "Paxmate Lattice" mods.

Now, it's easier to find what you're looking for since I made a Table of Contents.
