share experiences with Schiit BiFrost & Lyr.

Hello everyone!

 

I'm considering of getting the Schiit Bifrost & Lyr down the line and was wondering if the folks here would share their experiences & opinions about them. I will be connecting them to a iMac playing Apple lossless files, some are 24/96 & 24/192. I have a couple of questions.

 

1) Can I use a Y cable to connect my powered speakers (KRK Rokit 5) & the Lyr  to the BiFrost?

 

2) Should it be balanced or unbalanced? It looks like there's only 2 RCA outputs (left & right) on the BiFrost?  

 

3) Does the BiFrost come with a USB cable?

Would a BiFrost + Lyr combo be an improvement over the Apogee Duet 2?

Not too much help here, but the Lyr has a set of RCA outs.

Sorry I can't help with the others, my setup isn't here yet. My original intention was to do Bifrost -> Lyr -> integrated for speakers, but it appears that the output there is volume controlled.  So if you want to use the Lyr to set the volume on your speakers, that would be the setup. If you want to use separate volume controls for speaker and Lyr, you can use a Y adapter from the Bifrost to send output to both the Lyr and the speakers.  This is what they recommended I do, said it wouldn't be a problem at all.
