Oh yeah. Pink M9.

I'd love to own a (normal) M9 with a fast 50 one day. smile.gif

My M4 with a 35mm pre-ASPH 'Cron:

Seems like B&W is the only appropriate way to take a pic of a classic Leica!

Or not.  And yes, I've cleaned the lens since.

Actually, this is one of three bodies I have.  I've also got an M2 and M5 plus a 90mm Elmarit and a 135mm Tele-Elmar.

I've never been a fan of the 50mm perspective but the 35mm 'Cron pretty much lives on that M4 body.  Such a great combo!

.........................................always loved seeing Leica cameras in use. The guy who sat next to me in photography school had one. He used to fly down to Mexico and come back with these cool Tri-X B/Ws. I have always had Nikons.

One time I had a dream where my Wife, her Sister and I went back in time to the 1940s. The whole dream was totally clear but in Black and White. They had invented the time machine and folks where getting on it just like getting on a plane. I was in a neighborhood I used to live and we were on the bus, of all things. Everyone was wearing these formal dressy 1940s city sport -coats and hats. The only thing I could think about was to get over to a camera store to buy a couple 1940s Leica cameras to take them back to the future with me? At the end of the dream we were in the camera store and I was holding a camera, then I woke up.

I guess you could say I dream of owning a Leica.

Picked up a M8 and a Summicron 35 F2 this Christmas.  I have never owned a camera of this quality before.  It's such a magnificient piece of equipment to use and behold.  My only problem is being able to focus quickly and accurately with it.

Nice to see the old M8 is still relevant in today's fast-moving high ISO world.

What does everyone think about the new M Type-240?

Yeah the M8 still takes great photos, but I don't use mine at night. The rangefinder focusing system is still quite new to me, and does take longer to get sharp focus.

The new M is nice, but I would not buy it at full retail price. Some say that the CCD sensor of the M9 does make your photos a little more vivid vs. the CMOS in the new M. As for the M8, it is excellent for black and white photography (better than M9) due to its higher sensitivity to IR light.

I've actually pre-ordered the M240 and am still waiting for it to be in stock...

It amazes me people are buying this camera at it's price point. I love Leicas and still shoot my iiif when using film, but I could not justify buying an m9 or 240, I do shoot digital with the X pro1 though. I originally bought it thinking I would use my Leica glass, but the Fuji glass is better too, and the whole system is  still way cheaper thn the inferior digital camera body only. JMO.
