Another under-rated one is the PX100 and PX100 II.

A few years ago they were highly recommended, but they have fallen off the face of the world lately.

then that would bring in the C-JAYs n V-Jays... swedish minimalist style.

But Mikros still does alot of genre spectacularly..and those leather...for 70bucks..geez.

Yep, I really like the sound signature of my Hammo's, I use them at work exclusively.

Philips shp3000, balanced sound with dynamic bass, very cheap!  Philips shp5401, very clear, airy trebly sound with fast bass, mids are quite prominent too.  Philips uptown, plenty of bass with warm mids.  Yamaha hph200, plenty of detail, good bass for open cans, lively, fruity upper mids and treble.

Not sure man, these guys have been making cardboard speakers for far too long for me to give them any credit.

They're some of the most comfortable headphones on the market and aren't quite as offensively priced as the rest of Bose's range, and they actually don't sound terrible. Because of the constant hatred Bose receives here, I'd say you have a real case for them. In the general population, however, they're anything but underrated.

Musical fidelity MF100 , stunningly good , no one talks about them.

They only seem to play well with simple classical music to me with its live like presentation. Anything else I threw at them sounded really bad out of it due to its extreme colouration.

(and the earpads are really stiff with a fairly strong clamping force)

How long did you give them? They are one of the most uncoloured headphones I have heard, strange , the clamp eases off pretty quick.

AKG K-240s, Absolutely love these cans and theses days seem to be forgotten bargain in the full-size arena, love the spherical sound presentation and you can listen for hours with no fatigue at all.

Well I will admit I only tried them at the headphone shop with my own music. I will return someday to try them out again and analyse their sound in more detail.
Also does the clamp ease due to the earpads softening or the headband itself stretching out?

I just acquired a pair of Sony MDR-F1s.

I was surprised by how good they are, so I read some old posts to see what was said about this model when they were readily available.   They got little love and respect.

These are the most underrated headphones on Head-Fi.  Period!!!

Dunno why not much love for the AKG K142 HD and K242 HD... Both are great performers especially with jazz, classical, and monitoring. It's kinda a laid-back Grado for me.
