PS 200, you mean the dual balanced armature earphones?

Yeah, that's a TWFK from Knowles.

Hmmmm. I have a C510E that has Dual Chamber and Tri-Acoustic Impedance and a 14.3mm driver smile.gif! They might just be related! Nice Driver! I've owned the Brookstones and Radius DDM and been loaned the DDM 2. 2 drivers are not better than one in this case. Sign me up for one of these earphones!!

Will there be a no mic version? Do you have price points for the two new models yet?

Ah, you could be right. It's been discontinued for awhile so I'd have to ask the engineer as I'm not too sure ;)

Sounds like you really know your stuff though!!

It does not but they tune it in house. I think only Sony manufacture there own BAs.

Hehe, speculation ;)

Actually no. They will be using 14.3mm dynamic drivers similarly found in our other half in-ear earphones.

There are also some really cool features that help us tune these earphones called "Dual-Chamber" and "Multi-Tune AD".

Both of which have to do with controlling the airflow in a precise manner.

Side note...

Not a whole lot of people know but we actually make our own drivers in house! :)

Cheers!

That has actually impressed me more as there is only certain amounts you can do with a OEM so it puts my mind at rest and the technology sounds great! I do prefer IEMs that are made with in house drivers.

Can not wait t see how they turn out sound wise and am still yet to try a Phiaton product.

Hi jant71!

Quite a collection you're building there! Yeah, I can disclose the anticipated MSRPs.

MS 200 (Moderna) - $149.00

MS 500 (Bridge) - est. $299.00

Pricing could change as launch gets near but these seem pretty solid!

Oh and there is only a version with a mic for the Modernas.

The Bridge however will come with two cables, one with a mic and one without.

Regards,

Akio

Yeh i can also say that it used a Knowles TWFK which is a dual armature unit but sold as one unit, they are connected. They are in what must be at least 8 IEMs no, i have owned 3 and own 2 at the moment and not one have sounded similar because what the companies do with dampening material and housings to individualise them.

Thanks for the quick reply Akio! I see the MS 200 with the Moderna name and look at the picture to see they certainly do fit the Moderna look/color scheme. I think I had the MS 300 on loan for a week or so but have yet to actually own a Phiaton product. Might just be the time :)!

Even the well-regarded CK10 uses the Knowles TWFK.

Not a lot of IEM's has their own in-house drivers. Most are from OEM's....

this is not a negative point IMO, as it will be tuned further (IE: Putting dampers/filters) by the company who bought the license.

It was kinda funny since Phiaton is part of a big OEM. These are dynamic and will be all original phones drivers and all so the OEM comment was not applicable in this case. There are two armature models and they don't make armatures so they got Knowles like most brands did. Enough talk about the armatures already :). Agree, not a negative nor relevant here.

Phiaton sure has a thing going for design! I'm loving the design of the MS 500!

Not so much its price, though.

Speaking as someone who's owned & reviewed the MS300, MS400, and PS500... I'm highly intrigued by the MS200 and MS500...

Thread Starter

It's been 1 month exactly since this thread got any attention.  I'll give it a little life for now; a little.

They did include a set of tips that act similar to that of the ones produced by Bose.  Stability is done slightly differently though...  Pics below.  They are very comfortable, but I can't get the proper seal with them :(
