ER-6 a triumph!

Well I just received my ER-6's and all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you! These are positively the flattest reproducers I have ever heard. There transient response is extraordinary! I can hear a new level of detail, it sounds like my ears are ten years old again. I have around $9000.00 invested in state of the art audio equiptment, I never thought I could bring it to Disney World with me! When I first unpacked them my first thought was I made a big mistake. Was I pleasantly surprised at the dynamic range these babies can reproduce, from the most quite delicate intricacies to the loudest thunderous crescendos, these phones do it all without being the least bit harsh. I can only imagine what the ER-4 sound like. People owe it to themselves to hear these accurate reproducers if for no other reason, to hear what they have been missing all these years. Superlative sound is obviously the state of there art! Again Thanks I never thought I would find them.

Hi Tony

Glad you like them - I have the 4P's and they're wonderful. I still like my 888's = but I know you had problems with them. Welcome to Club Ety

Heh, get the ER4P's, the 4P->4S adaptor, a Cosmic, the base station one, the Traveller bag, and custom earmolds from your local audiologist.

Then sell that $9K worth of audiophile equipment you got....

I'm beginning to think those 888 were defective. I must admit I like the way these fit better though. I am most impressed at how flat there response sounds. Nothing missing nothing exaggerated, just good clean impeccable sound! I thought I heard some good low end on some Sheffield Lab discs I have , till I played some kettle drum passages on a Telarc disc I have. It's amazing how low they'll go and yet how tight they are. I love them.

How much better are the ER-4's?

Can someone explane the advantage in sound quality the ER-4's have over the ER-6's? I understand there more efficient, but what about there sonic differences, and is it worth the money difference listening to mp3's.

Man, oh man...where to begin? Let me be very brief. The 4 series is much more musical than the er6. A bit more detailed, more open, not as edgy and visceral. Pleasant and inviting. Not that the er6 isn't, but whoa boy, the 4 series is an absolutely unbelievable HP.
