Mid-price custom in-ear monitors: what to buy

Dear all

 

Because no universal fit iem was ever a fit for my (supposedly tiny) ear canals, I am seriously considering a custom one now. Given the non-existent resale value and the non-possibility to give them back if you dont like them, my choice wants to be a careful one now.

 

With mid-price I mean around 400 Eur. And they should be available somehow in Europe. Sending ear imprints around the world, paying taxes and customs, only to find out that the molding was not very exact in the end, seems not a good idea to me...

 

First contender would be the Ultimate Ears 4 pros, and I rather liked the sound of my now broken SuperFi5s. 

 

Any other contenders worth mentioning?

I have teeny tinys also...

 

Frustrated, I finally settled on Etymotic ER-4.

 

With a 4mm barrel and Comply Foam P-Series Slim tips.

 

I found a match made in heaven.

 

Etymotic does have a custom fit program. Perhaps worth checking out.

There are several good options.  Although low tiered I would look at Starkey, ACS, Spiral Ear and some other European brands but those are the notable ones that come to mind.
