Hi guys,

Wanted to find out if anybody knew the model/part number for the headphone connector used in the Sony Qualia 010 headphone cable.  I believe the part is made by a company named Lemo, but I'm not sure which part specifically.

Thanks in advance.

I bought a pair from Justin Wilson (HeadAmp), and then got some help from a buddy to mess with the Lemo part configurator to find a match.  Ordered the part and it's identical.

Model #: FGG.00.302.CLAD35

Part can be ordered from Alpine Electronics: alpine-electronics.com

Edit: Fixed link.

its available at mouser too the z on the last suffix is a minor variation but the size and format is the same, they have the same one you linked but its 10 bucks more

your link is broken btw, I guess you accessed it through a company intranet? you can probably even find a redel version of the lemo you linked, which is a plastic housing range of many popular lemo models

From Alpine, they're $24.77 USD per connector ($49.54 per pair, plus shipping of course).

I found the link through Google and copy/pasted it.  Not sure why it didn't work before, but I think it's fixed now.

Edit: Looks like Mouser has both.  Not sure what the difference is.

yeah thats what I said, the Z is 10 cheaper than non-z, think its just a difference in plating from memory. nice price on your link though, i came across them ages ago but never bothered to check into it further. The shipping is bound to be huge to AU and I get other stuff at mouser; often reaching the free shipping quota, but I buy quite a few lemos these days so it might be worth another look.

Free shipping? how much is that?

$200AUD and you get free shipping and at digikey for the last 6 months or so, while its not free at $200, its much reduced. For large orders might only be $25-30 for fedex express or UPS express with DK now, since they made a move to match or at least compete with mouser in this regard. with mouser once past $200 at least here in AU, we can choose from fedex express or UPS express saver

That's a pretty awesome deal for international shipping.

Damn, I've spent like $80 on Mouser at one time, but that was cause I was getting new tools. Oh well. :/

I regularly spend 500+ with them and sometimes a couple grand (same with DK), but indeed its a good deal. We are a pretty tight knit group of DIYers here in AU so quite often if I dont have enough by myself we can throw in and then we only need to spring for the local distribution. otherwise we get ripped badly here for international shipping. before digikey started discounting it would not be unusual to spend $100 or more on the shipping for a decent order as they padd out the packages massively with wadding and separate bags for everything then boxes over that; plus they dont offer anything less than UPS or fedex express. if its a small order under the 200 at mouser its usually 35-45. we also do not pay duty/tax until a package is over 1000AUD.

locally suppliers are waaaay more expensive, sometimes on some parts up to 1000% but 250-300% is not unusual. so even a $100 order is often worthwhile to import. basically australian suppliers are shooting themselves in the foot.
