I really should salute your indefatigability for your continued pursuance of my 'ironic' replies that appear to be completely lost on you, though I daresay you'd probably think I was being condescending, so I won't.

Anyone here want to actually discuss headphones?

I would - but in both forums, all we can do is wait. I am personally hoping that he makes Matte black the 3rd PPU option, since he said he might be adding one.

Either way - I'll take the risk of trying, and if I dont like 'em, I'll wait to see how the new Denon's are.

IMO, Tyll is off base.  The PSBs are spectacular.

Craigster... any news on the un-amped version?

Nothing, it may even just be a rumor.  However, even if you never use the amp, I still think they are a reasonable value at $400.

No - I asked. They said they'll be out in the fall, along with the white versions of both the 1 and 2.

WOW, great news.  The choices are becoming more difficult.  I could see the M-100 as my go-to for "adrenaline-pumping" music and the PSBs for ligher fare/vocals unless the M-100 surprises me and equals or surpasses the PSB in detail and midrange clarity in which case they could truly be the ultimate all-in-one portable.

V-Moda, PSB, Denon- who will take gold, silver and bronze?

I took the Ultrasone Signature Pro out of the running- not because they aren't amazing, but because they aren't $900 more amazing than the PSB.  If Ultrasone wants to compete with some of the top notch circumaural portables coming out, they need to add smart/phone/Iphone cables and find some justification to lower the price so that they are competitive with the sound-to-cost ratio.

We'll know how the Denon is in a week or so - because if the D600 isn't better than the PSB/V-MODA, the D-400 definitely won't be.

Other than that - we're left waiting for the M-100's.

Agreed, we can speculate until we are blue in the face, but until we hear them.....

Agreed. These are some exciting times and it'll only get better once we get our hands on these cans.

Well, he did say he liked them quite a bit with the amp off - he just doesn't seem to like spiky treble, which he said it had with the amp turned on.

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I've been a bit busy of late. Has there been any mention of a definitive release date? Thanks in advance, guys. :)

Preorders 8/8, but shipping could be as late as 8/25.

I see, thanks. I guess that means it'll be ready for the mass market in September earliest. It gives me a little more time to save for them. :)

My fiance's excited to get one of them as well - she loves the SQ of the M-80, but prefers the larger form factor of the LP2.
