Yes that is true.  Back in 2003-2006, one had to visit the Sony Qualia store and get measured before they can buy a Qualia.  Once the Qualia line was discontinued in 2005 (?), several headphones were sold at a deep discounted.  One senior headfi member informed me that Sony did offer to sell them at $800 each.  At one time, a used Qualia was selling b/w $900 to $1300 in the sell/trade forum.   Should have bought more then.

yeah......i was at the same garage sale as the one you went. you should be more patience. I walked away with 3 BNIB R10 and a T2 and 2 mint Omega

Can someone tell me how to determine the size of the headband? When I bought these qualia 010's , it did not come with the original box. Also, I can't see any markings that might give me a reference.

Thanks for the picture.  That gotta be either small or medium headband.  I use a black dragon upgrade cable for mine too!  Just love love the Qualia.  Listening to Hi-rez binural tracks on Qualia is just so so nice.smily_headphones1.gif

Appreciate your feedback... and about the Black Dragon, I like it so much that I refitted my SA5K as well. The upgrade moves both HP's another notch......
