I figured I'd take up a project and try and patch up my old MDR-V6's that required a new cable, everything was smooth sailing until I plugged them in and found there was no bass whatsoever coming from them, however they ARE working, so I'm thinking maybe I've got something in the wrong place? this would mark my first ever time trying to recable so there's a large chance I did something wrong here so I'll just post pictures so maybe someone here can tell me what I did wrong.
I used this as a guide http://colomar.com/Shavano/ringtip.html But I can't decipher what I'm looking at for the life of me.

I'm using mogami 2534 cable if that answers any questions ahead of time.

The two blues are a common negative, and the two clears are my hot or positive connections.
Pictures.
This is the earcup, excuse the infantile soldering, it's the best I can do, my hands aren't the steadiest...

And here's the jack which is where I personally think I made my error, but my guess is as good as anything, so I'll try anything to get these sounding proper.

Again, these were broken before I tried this...I can also assure you that none of the cables in the jack are touching or anything like that, but again, I really have no clue what I'm doing, I require help from the experts!

Can't offer help on the recabling or solving your problem as I haven't recabled a headphone yet. Though from experience of taking apart more electronics and other things apart than I care to count I can offer you a bit of advice which has saved me several times in the past.

Take pictures before you take it apart and during each step when you expose something new, a couple pictures at different angles each time (a camera phone is sufficient enough from my experience). Not advice you came looking for but I figure it might help you in the future if you like to take about a tinker with things like I do.
