Forgot to mention I usually run my phones out of an old-ass pioneer receiver that seems to do the trick. Out of my computer I use a Fiio E7 which works very well for both HD598s and the AHD5000s. By the way, the HD598s and AHD5000s are butt-loads more comfy than the Q701s and, in my opinion, both sound better. That is a completely different argument though!! Happy hunting!
