I purchased this refurbished on ebay since the line output from a coby disc player was not too good.

This is outside the usual. It was designed to interface as a computer disc drive and was a music player as a second thought.  All the computer aspects are totally outmoded so I chucked them.

I am running the line output into the rca plugs on the back of an old Panasonic bookshelf system which has decent enough capabilities. This is going to a pair of Lambda SRs running through a SRD-7/SB.

This is a really good cd player. The orig price was $360. It has no skip proofing and has an aggressive clarity. It has an external battery compartment. I have found no specs on the audio section. I am quite satisfied. So I am suggesting that it be added to the list of good Sony Discmen.
