Hi, BB187, It seems that you have bought a fake one, I am sorry that we only found this out recently, we do apologize for that, you could ask your local reseller to exchange for you, if there is any problem, please kindly let us know, we will do our best to help.

I would love to see a photo of the guts BB...to compare to mine which I'm still uncertain as to whether or not it's a fake.

I just received my E6 from an ebay seller ec-warehouse

No serial number and all the other differences mentioned in the first post. They claim to be in the UK but the package is sent from Hong Kong (the address was on the envelope so if you want it...).

Why would someone fake a fiio e6?

This sounds a little fishy... its only a $20 amp.

In my personal opinion I believe that fiio itself commissioned the production of the fakes in order to make their genuine products look like they are sought after.

Just my $0.02

Let's play....is it fake? (Not to be confused with "Are They Fake?" that I play with my friends at parties and in barstongue_smile.gif) So here are the guts of my E6. No S/S on the box. Thin bar on the power switch and thick loop. So....IS...IT....FAKE???

That will be a stupid behaviour. why should we make so many version and cost extra money to make a clone mold and clone PCBA?

There's fakes no matter how cheap it is. Look at flash cartridge (fake R4) for the Nintendo DS, they only sell for $2 to $15 and yet there's 20 different clone of that one flash cart.

My experience with video game mods is, if they can clone it and sell it, than they will, it doesn't matter how little the profit margin is. I think that applies to this as well.

I'm no expert but the FiiO E6 looks pretty simple and can be easily cloned for cheap.

Another example is the fake beats tours that sells for 6-9 USD

It is fake FiiO E6, you should claim to the seller.

So, is the E6 the only FiiO product affected by counterfeiting? Cables and LOD's are safe? rolleyes.gif

So I guess EMUSIC ENTERPRISES INC. thru Amazon is a counterfeiter. I will inform Amazon so they can boot them from their site. Cathy previously told me they were partners with your distributor. Is Micca the only venue for REAL FiiO products? If so it would be nice to know so we don't waste any more time or money.

Emusic is supplied by our official distributor, for some reason, our customer don't want us list all their retailer.

This is really annoying.

I bought mine from "EverythingDeals" and it was fullfilled by Amazon. They had lots of feedback. Didn't read the article about fakes until today.

Looks genuine and i've compared the pictures.

The plastic box has a serial number, but on the back. The back has a plastic film with a labeled serial number on it and a bar code.

Serial: B005HJWWW8

The manual looks original, but no qualified certificate stamp on it. The area is blank.

The usb port is flush, but the ridge on the switch is thin. The EQ/power label is straight.

The sound is perfectly OK. Is there an easy way to crack this open without destroying it?

Looks genuine to me. Nothing is jumping out at me saying "fake" unless they got better at faking it.

UPDATE: I cracked it open. I guess those "fakers" are getting smarter. The USB jack has no insulation on it. Comparing it more now. Seriously this one must be nearly an exact clone or something externally. Not 100% sure yet. Trying to get a picture.

Some pictures:

1.JPG

4.JPG

5.JPG

No covering over usb plug and there's a piece of foam on one of the chips. The genuine photo didn't seem to have that.

The copper colored plugs also look like the fake.

About 95% sure this is a fake now.

Externally about almost everyone would assume it's genuine. I was almost sure of it, but I popped it open. The manual looks like an original.

BTW after I popped it open it doesn't go back together. Broken.

EDIT: Fiio says they supply EverythingDeals (it's in this thread), so I don't know what's going on. Plan on returning it anyway. Free postage from Amazon.

I'm sure Fiio will give confirmation if the above is fake. Even if it's not fake, it's broken anyway. If it's not, it makes no sense why it would be identical to the fake that's posted here.

I think i'm too trustworthy of fullfilled by Amazon retailers with thousands of positive feedbacks.

Dang, not good to hear. Return it and say you got a counterfeit.

Amazon was really good about working with me about this. I'm just still a little confused since mine looks like a fake but FiiO keeps saying that the company I bought from thru Amazon is legit...or at least "supplied by our official distributor". Yeah I'm totally thinking DIY is the way to go now. At least that way I'll know WHO counterfeited my amp. LOL
